| 概要 | Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is the leading cause of hospitalization in elderly people. The aim of this study is to identify the prognostic factors in elderly HFpEF patients. A total of 378 HFpEF patients aged more than 75 years from a multicenter hospital‒based cohort study by HIJ‒HF II consisted of 1,264 HF patients hospitalized between 2013 and 2014. During the median follow‒up period of 12 (2‒24) months, 107 (28%) patients died. Using multivariate analysis, independent risks for mortality were high value of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and hypoalbuminemia (Table). Our results suggested that high value of BUN and hypoalbuminemia are independent predictors for mortality among Japanese elderly HFpEF patients in a real-world setting. |
