Summary	Fall of in-hospital patient is a serious problem]) because it has risk of severe impairment or death. Especially in a neurosurgical ward, many of post-operative patients are with decreased level of consciousness, so that they have higher risk of fall. Although straitjacket sometimes is adopted, it abuses human rights, and alarm system is installed to notify the nurses of patient's risky motion. Alarm system consists of sensor and nurse call bell. When the patient gets to sitting-up position, the sensor detects it, and nurse call bell system notifies the nurse of the situation. Then, a nurse rushes to the patient's room to see the patient, and sometimes lays the patient on the bed. As the alarm system is, however, not perfect and often has false-positive detect
