Summary Abstract: In this paper, we reported about relation of video compression ratio (i.e. bitrates) and video quality, and we proposed
minimum video bitrates for telesurgery. Recently, the development of network technology, telesurgery is remarkable. However, there
are several problems. For example, telesurgery requires high quality (i.e. high bitrates) videos, but it is too difficult for normal service
network to transmit high bitrates videos. Therefore, we must compress the movies without losing quality for telesurgery. So, we
execute experiments to clear enough video quality for telesurgery by H.264 codec. As a result, it is cleared that minimum video
bitrates for telesurgery is 512Kbps.
