Summary | Several studies have reported that blood flow-restricted (BFR) resistance training using low weight
machines or free weights could improves muscle size and strength, but negatively affect arterial compliance/stiffness in young and older adults. Recently, we reported that BFR training using elastic bands for resistance may be an effective home-based resistance training program for promoting muscle hypertrophy. However, the effects of elastic band resistance training with BFR on muscle size and arterial function remains poorly understood |
