概要	Background: Left ventricular assist device (LVAD) has become an important treatment option for the patients with advanced heart failure. Ventricular arrhythmia (VA) is common in patients supported with LVAD. With the growing use of LVAD, the recognition and management of VA have become big issue. The aim of this study was to asses the incidence and clinical consequence of VA in patients with LVAD, especially during long‒term support. Methods and Results: We retrospectively studied 61 patients who were implanted LVAD between 1997 and 2014 at our institution. The mean duration of LVAD support was 518 days (interquartile range, 132 to 1011) and VA occurred in 28 patients (46%). While 13patients (46%) experienced their first episode of VA during early‒post operative period (<30days), 8 patients (29%) experienced their first episode of VA 1‒year after LVAD implantation. Pre‒operative VA was the predictor of post‒operative VA (HR3.32, 95% CI 1.47‒7.70, p<0.01). Patients who experienced post‒operative VA had significantly higher mortality rate compared with those without (64% versus 29%; P<0.01). Conclusions: In LVAD patients, VA was common and still occurred 1‒year after LVAD implantation. VA was associated with an increased risk of mortality. In such patients, preventing and treating VA are needed.
