概要 Background: It remains unclear, in VTE patients between young and elder individually, what is the optimized strategy of anti-coagulant therapy, furthermore, what is the most important risk of mortality. Methods: In the COMMAND VTE Registry-2; multicenter registry enrolling 5197 VTE patients, we categorized patients into two age groups: less than 71 years (Young Grp) and 71 years and above (Elder Grp)(n=2691 and 2506, 56.0±12.6 and 80.3±5.6 yrs). Kaplan-Meier and Cox multivariate regression analyses were done using mortality risk and variables; sex, obesity, active cancer, heart failure, marker of VTE; D-dimer, recurrent VTE and major bleeding. Results: Compared with Young Grp, Elder Grp was lower survival rate in with or without active cancer as shown in figure. Furthermore, we found the relationship of all-cause mortality with active cancer and major bleeding in both groups, and heart failure in Young Grp, but obesity in Elder Grp. Conclusions: The clinical characteristics differed between young and elder groups, there was the difference in the risks; heart failure and obesity for mortality.
