概要 | Current estimation warned urgently the insufficient protein supplies for a growing global population, and some candidates have been proposed as alternative protein sources independent of conventional meat production. Cultured meat based on mass amplification of animal cells had conceptually been thought as a solution to this problem, and gradually several food products have been starting to put on the market. Towards sustainable industrial application, utilization of microalgae as the novel nutrient resource has been investigated in order not to cause conflicts about usage of grains to cell culture with conventional livestock farming. In this study, we focused on the bioactive effects of a microalgae. Anabaena sp. PCC7120, which has ability to fix nitrogen from the air, was homogenized and fractionated. A bioactive effect was found in the supernatant separated from the homogenate to promote proliferation of quail muscle clone 7 (QM7) cells depending on its purity; i.e., this effect weakened with an increase of micro-particle contamination co-occurring with an increase of homogenizing intensity. On the other hand, an extract from the precipitate also showed an increase in cell growth, and combination of the supernatant and the extract showed a synergism. Also, this bioactive effect was increased depending on the QM7 cell seeding number; therefore, those components would boost autocrine effect of QM7. Taking our findings together, it was suggested that anabaena have multiple bioactive substances, and in the future, we continue to identify those components. |
