概要 | *Poster Session (Japanese)115 Heart Failure (Laboratory/Biomarkers)
Background:Inflammation and malnutrition is a common problem in hospitalized patients with acute heart failure (AHF), and is associated with adverse outcomes. C-reactive protein (CRP) is an acute-phase reactant and a nonspecific marker of systemic inflammation. Recently, growing interest has been placed on prealbumin for nutritional assessment. In addition, prealbumin is a negative acute-phase protein in that its synthesis is suppressed in inflammatory settings in which cytokines stimulate hepatic production of acutephase proteins such as CRP. Therefore, the ratio of CRPto-prealbumin (CP ratio) may be a comprehensive marker of inflammation and malnutrition. Although the CP ratio has been shown to predict mortality in critically ill patients, prognostic impact of CP ratio in AHF patients remains unclear. We thus evaluated the relation of CP ratio with allcause mortality in AHF patients. Methods: We analyzed 257 hospitalized AHF patients who examined CRP and prealbumin levels on admission. Results: Shown in the Figure. Conclusion: The ratio of 2 hepatic proteins, CRP and prealbumin, may be useful in the risk stratification of AHF patients. |
