概要 | *Oral Presentation (Japanese)26 Heart Failure (Paharmacology)
Atrial fibrillation (AF) are frequently observed in patients with heart failure (HF). However, the efficacy of betablockers (BB) in HF patients with AF is uncertain. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of beta-blockers (BB) on mortality among HF patients with AF. We studied 266 HF patients with concomitant AF (age: 76+/-12 years, 47% female) from a multicenter hospital-based cohort consisted of hospitalized HF patients between 2013 and 2014. 168 patients (63%) were receiving BB. BB patients were lower age, had lower rates of ventricular arrhythmias and lower left ventricular ejection fraction than non-BB patients. During 16 +/- 11 months follow-up, the total mortality was significantly lower in BB patients than non-BB patients (15% vs.21%) (Figure A). Compared to non-BB patients matched by using propensity scores based on baseline variables, BB patients had also a significant lower rates of mortality (Figure B). BB may improve prognosis for patients with concomitant HF and AF. |
