概要 | *Poster Session (Japanese) 59 Kidney 1
Background:Severe heart failure patients often have renal dysfunction (RD) due to low cardiac output. We often experience improvement of renal function and adverse events such as infection, heart failure, stroke, and so on, after left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. However, it is not clear the impact of adverse events on long-term renal function changes. Methods and Results: 44 patients underwent a continuous-flow LVAD (EVAHEART) implantation at our institute between 2005 and 2018. We investigated the changes in renal function over 2 years among 41 patients with supported by EVAHEART over 6 months (Figure). Among patients with renal impairment at implantation, about half of patients had greater deterioration of renal function 2 years later, regardless of transient renal improvement after LVAD implantation. 28 patients (76%) experienced re-admission due to any adverse events during LVAD support. There is no relationship the incidence of each adverse events and RD at 2 years after LVAD implantation. Conclusion:There is no significant association RD and adverse events after implantation of LVAD. |
