概要 | Background: Long-term outcomes were poor in patients overrepresented sleep apnea (SA) and cardiovascular disease. However, the relationship between severity of SA and clinical backgrounds of patient underwent coronary intervention (PCI) was still unclear. Methods: Total of 180 consecutive patients performed elective PCI was screened for SA with nocturnal oximetry. Desaturation was defined as a drop in hemoglobin saturation level to lower than 4% from baseline and oxygen desaturation index per hour (4%ODI) was obtained. Patients with 4%ODI≥5 were regarded as suffering SA, and 4%ODI≥15 as severe-SA. Finally, 122 patients (73 SA and 49 Non-SA) were retrospectively analyzed. Results: SA patients showed significantly higher BMI and glycohemoglobin (26 vs. 23 kg/m2, p<0.01; 6.7 vs. 6.1%, p=0.039, respectively). However, other clinical background including lipid profiles, renal functions or fatty acids was not statistically different between the groups. Then among SA population, comparing mild-SA (n=48) and severe-SA (n=25), BMI was still significantly higher in severe-SA group (25 vs. 28 kg/m2, p=0.021). In terms of lipid profiles, LDL-C, non-HDL-C and LDL/HDL ratio were all significantly higher in severe-SA group (96 vs. 115 mg/dL, p=0.039; 122 vs. 143 mg/dL, p=0.035; 1.7 vs. 2.1, p<0.01, respectively), in spite of similar prevalence of dyslipidemia and statin administration between the groups. Conclusion: Poor lipid profiles associated with severity, but not with prevalence of SA among patients underwent PCI. |
