概要	Abstract Lars Leksell initially described the concept of stereotactic radiosurgery in 1951 and initiated use of the first Gamma Knife in Stockholm, Sweden in 1968. During the next 14 years, 762 patients with various brain disorders underwent Gamma Knife treatment [3]. Highly promising results led to steady worldwide dissemination of the technique. In 1987, the first Gamma Knife facility in North America became operational at the University of Pittsburgh [3].
