Summary | Myoepithelial tumors in the skin and soft tissue are rare and have variable morphologic, immunohistochemical, and molecular profiles. Myoepithelial tumors often pose a diagnostic challenge. We report a case of a 20-year-old female patient with a slowly growing painless mass sized 15mm on the right hallux. On magnetic resonance imaging, the mass had findings suggestive of neurogenic tumor. The mass was histopathologically diagnosed as a myoepithelioma with plasmacytoid cells. After a one-year follow-up period, no recurrence or metastasis was observed. Myoepitheliomas have a benign clinical course, with recurrence in up to 20% cases. Careful follow-up is needed. |
