Summary Stretching of the ocular wall might result in occluded choriocapillaris and degeneration of the retinal pigment epithelium. These changes along the border of the inferior posterior staphyloma predispose to submacular CNV and polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy in tilted disk syndrome.
