Summary | Complete tumor removal and preservation of neural function are both important in brain tumor resection. In "intelligent operating theatre" located at Tokyo Women's Medical University Hospital, image-guided surgical technique is adopted using intraoperative magnetic resonance imager. In addition, intraoperative information such as patient vital signs, video imagery, and sound is recorded for surgical planning and better outcome. Authors also analyze surgical process using multiple channels of video imagery to find important points in surgical phases and to detect intraoperative incidents. In this report, system configuration, results of clinical application, and preliminary results of surgical workflow analysis are shown. |
