■ 概要
東京女子医科大学口腔外科
東京女子医科大学歯科口腔外科は昭和23年（1948）に開設され、医科大学の 口腔外科では最も伝統のある教室の一つです。本学創設の思想である「至誠の心」と「愛」を基本に、安全で質の高い医療を合い言葉に医療を行っています。口腔外科とは口腔、顎、顔面ならびにその隣接組織に現れる先天性および後天性の疾患を扱う診療科です。外来初診患者数は毎月約300名、再診患者数は毎月3千数百名となっています。 平成21年度は初診患者数3,913名で外来患者数40,831名でした。
平成22年1月から12月までの初診紹介患者数は1,335名です。当科では24時間体制での顎顔面口腔領域の救急診療も行っております。地域の歯科クリニックでは対応が困難な重症歯性感染症や顎顔面外傷の救急対応を行っております。また総合病院の歯科として、地域の歯科クリニックでは治療が困難な全身疾患をお持ちの患者さんの抜歯などの歯科外科処置を関係各科と協力のもと積極的に行っております。
私どもでは平成22年の1年間で366例の患者さんが入院治療を受け、そのうち、顔面骨骨折が46例、口腔癌が46例、顎骨嚢胞、良性腫瘍および腫瘍類似疾患が46例、口腔周囲の炎症が15例、全身的な併存症を有する患者さんの抜歯180例などでした。研究は口腔顎顔面の再生研究（歯周組織、口腔粘膜、骨、顔面神経）、口腔癌、顎関節、デンタルインプラントの研究を行っており、国内外に研究成果を発信しております。「自己培養歯根膜細胞シートを用いた歯周組織の再建」の研究は平成23年1月から厚生労働大臣より本臨床研究実施の承認を頂き、歯周疾患の再生医療の拠点として大きな期待を頂いております。当科は日本口腔外科学会、日本口腔インプラント学会、日本顎関節学会、日本歯周病学会の学会認定施設となっており、若手医師の教育も行なっています。
