Summary | Retaining of surgical instruments in the patient's bodies has occasionally happened. To prevent it, surgical instruments with radio-frequency identification tags and new antenna for use in an operation room (ORAnt) were developed. With the use of such surgical instruments can be identified automatically during surgery. The system should precisely recognize the surgical instruments and not to interfere with work of intraoperative medical equipment. The purpose of this study was measurement of the magnetic field distribution of ORAnt. It revealed that with increase of the distance in z-axis direction, the magnetic field strength attenuated to the -4th powers of the distance. |
